Case: Post-Tensioned Bridge

Using movable scaffolding systems, post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete bridges can span up to 90 meters (295 ft). The multi span bridge can have up to three or four spans with continuous tendons.  The tendons can be connected with couplers to provide continuity between adjacent spans.  It has been reported that tensioning the 14 tendons from anchor ends takes about 12 hours of time.  During concrete pouring, steam curing was selected to accelerate the hardening of the fresh concrete.  Concreting of the box girder has been done in two stages.  First, U-sections has been cast and later the deck has been cast.
